Christ-St. Paul's Community Wide Bible Study!

James:  Mercy Triumphs by Beth Moore

Monday, February 6th - 6:30pm-8:30pm

Christ-St. Paul's will be hosting and participating in a community wide bible study. We are going to do Beth Moore's new study on the book of James - Mercy Triumphs.  We will start Monday, February 6th from 6:30-8:30pm. The Study is 7 weeks long, so we will finish before Palm Sunday and all the busyness that brings. There will be a nursery provided. Please call me (Nancy - 889-3240) or the church office to register for the study and to register your kids. I really need to know a head count for books and for the number of sitters I need so PLEASE register. Also, please don't hesitate to call me if you have any questions. The books cost $15.  Can't wait to get started!

YOUTH CONFIRMATION PREP - January 8th-February 12th

During Bishop Lawrence's visit he will also confirm those youth who are prepared and ready to make a "mature public affirmation" of their faith, do so in the presence of the Bishop. Stan & Fr. Craige will be preparing them this year.  Any interested youth contact Stan 766-2332.

Youth Quest teens - If you are interested in being CONFIRMED you are expected to:

*Attend all 5 weeks of Youth Quest AM (Sunday 9-10:15am) "Outrageous Christianity" 1/8 thru 2/12

*Attend all 5 weeks of Youth Quest PM (Sunday 5-7:00pm) 1/8 thru 2/12

*Attend Jesus Weekend on February 17th-19th

SafeGuarding God's Children

Poly Sosnowski, ACSW, a licensed social worker with 35 years of professional experience working with children and families in mental health and child welfare settings will lead a traing class in "SafeGuarding God's Children" at Christ-St. Paul's, Saturday, March 27th from 9am-12noon.  The workshop is offered to all.  All of those at CSP who volunteer in the Nursery, KidZone, Youth Quest are strongly requested to attend this important workshop. Please contact the Church Office at 889-2820 and get your name on the list.

 Lent Begins February 22nd!

Join us this year for a 40 day Spiritual Adventure. During the season of Lent we will explore and put into practice together some of the Spiritual Disciplines of the Christian life. We will have a 40 day Lenten Devotional-A series of Home Group teachings by Fr. Kendall, Fr. Craige and Stan-and a preaching series- "Portraits of Discipleship" where we will examine the lives of those in the Bible who lived out these spiritual disciplines. All the while we will be putting these disciplines into practice in our own lives. This is a great time to grow spiritually and to prepare for Easter and the rest of our lives. Plan on growing with us! (Look for more info in future issues of "This Week")

 Confirmation for Adults

Bishop Lawrence Visit-Sunday February 12th 

It will be our honor to have Bishop Lawrence with us on Sunday, February 12th for both services.

During his visit those wishing to join CSP, confirm or reaffirm their faith and receive the laying of hands from the Bishop. 

Those adults interested in learning more about joining CSP are invited to join the new CSP 101 class

which meets Sunday morning at 9:30-10:15am in the library.  Please see Fr. Craige for more information.

If you picked up a baby bottle in the past few weeks, please keep filling it with your spare change! The baby bottles will be given to the Crisis Pregnancy Center for those women who need assistance with their new baby.  Bring your bottle on Sunday, February 19th to offer.  Jesus Calls His Disciples

Our Epiphany Season lessons continued this week as we watched Jesus call his disciples. We learned that Jesus called four fishermen - Peter, John, James and Andrew. When he asked them to "follow me," they put down their nets and left everything to follow him. We learned that Jesus taught his disciples to "catch" men, not fish. And we found out that we could be "fishers of men" by telling our friends about Jesus and by showing kindness and love to them. At craft time everyone painted their own boat to remind them that they, too, can be a disciple. Ask your child about the boat and about what it means to be "fishers" of men. Next week the excitement really begins as Jesus performs miracles! Join us (after the big breakfast) in the MegaZone @9:15am.
